AMM International is proud to present this outstanding BMW E39 M5, a 2001 facelift example finished in BMW Individual Estoril Blue over Individual Champagne leather. Originally delivered by Thorne BMW in the UK, this car is a rare opportunity to own a fully prepared, enthusiast-cared-for E39 M5 with correct provenance, excellent condition, and a specialist build that leaves nothing overlooked.
The E39 M5 is widely regarded as one of BMW M’s finest, and this example elevates that reputation further. It has been under long-term, meticulous custodianship, fully enhanced and maintained by specialists, while still keeping the smooth, usable character that makes this car so enjoyable every day.
First registered in 2001, it has covered 86,503 miles and has had six keepers. The most recent custodian took ownership in 2009 and has covered minimal mileage during their long period of stewardship. The car was used strictly as a weekend and summer car, and also as a show car, always garaged, never driven in poor weather, and kept continuously on a trickle charger to maintain the battery and electrical systems. With the rear seats effectively untouched, the interior reflects this careful use perfectly.
The car is HPI clear, accident-free, and comes with a valuable private registration included (M5OKK). It also has a valid MOT until 7 August 2026.
Supplied new by Thorne BMW, the car comes with its original BMW book pack, manuals, stamped service history, and a detailed supporting history file containing main dealer invoices and specialist work totalling tens of thousands of pounds. BMW servicing was carried out at the dealer up to 77,956 miles, after which it has been maintained exclusively by A Reeve Performance, one of the UK’s most respected BMW specialists. Mechanically, the car has had significant preventative and maintenance work, including replacement brake and fuel lines and a clutch replacement at 51,632 miles. The exhaust system has been upgraded with Supersprint headers, high-flow sports catalytic converters, and Hayward & Scott rear silencers, giving a deep, controlled V8 soundtrack that enhances the driving experience without being intrusive. Despite the power boost, the car retains the linear torque and smooth delivery that make the E39 M5 so special.
Chassis upgrades include KW Variant 3 road coilovers, professionally installed, aligned, and set up by A Reeve. The car handles beautifully, striking a balance between comfort and control. AP Racing brakes with 360mm six-piston fronts and 330mm four-piston rears have been fully renewed by A Reeve, and all four Pirelli P Zero tyres are brand new, ensuring confidence on every road. The underbody is in excellent condition, fully consistent with a garaged, fair-weather example.
Visually, the car presents superbly. Finished in BMW Individual Estoril Blue and ceramic coated, the paint has excellent depth and gloss. The dealer-fitted AC Schnitzer package adds subtle touches including 20-inch AC Schnitzer Type III Racing multi-piece wheels, finished in factory satin silver centres with polished outer lips, front valance lip, and roof-mounted AC Schnitzer rear spoiler, along with aluminium pedals, gear knob, and handbrake, and chrome door lock pins. Rear privacy glass completes the exterior look.
Inside, the cabin is finished in BMW Individual Champagne leather with polish burr walnut trim, and is in fantastic condition with only minor wear on the driver’s seat bolster.
