AMM International is proud to present this superb Honda Civic Type R EP3 Premier Edition, a rare UK-only final-run model, registered June 2006, and representing one of the very last EP3 Type Rs sold new in the UK. Finished in Nighthawk Black Pearl, this Premier Edition example is a genuine, well-preserved car, offered in strong original condition and highly regarded among Honda enthusiasts and collectors.
The EP3 Premier Edition was produced in limited numbers (approximately 1,000 units for the UK market) as a send-off to the iconic EP3 platform ahead of the next-generation Type R. With its enhanced factory specification, late-build status, and increasing rarity, the Premier Edition is widely considered the most collectible version of the EP3. This example has covered 66,650 miles, has had three owners, and notably formed part of a private collection for approximately 14 years, during which time it was carefully maintained and preserved rather than used as a daily vehicle.
Supplied new by Honda Edinburgh, the car is accompanied by the original Honda book pack, comprehensive service records, supporting invoices, and two original Honda keys, providing excellent provenance from new. It has also benefited from a professional underbody protection package, ensuring long-term preservation of the chassis and underside, a key consideration for EP3 ownership.
Recently, the car has undergone a service alongside significant maintenance, including brand new tyres, new brake discs and pads, and new brake calipers, meaning it is mechanically sorted and ready for immediate enjoyment.
Externally, the Nighthawk Black Pearl paintwork retains good depth and gloss throughout. As expected for a genuine, unmolested example, there are minor age-related stone chips to the bonnet and light scuffing to the rear bumper, visible on close inspection. These are entirely consistent with careful use and have been left untouched to preserve originality. The original alloy wheels are unmarked and in very good condition. All glass is original and in excellent condition, including the windscreen and side glass which retain their factory Honda stamps, and the car is fitted with genuine Honda xenon headlights, which remain clear, unclouded, and correctly stamped.
The interior is a particular highlight. It is smoke-free and pet-free, with the cigarette lighter never used, and retains the original factory Honda stereo. The cabin features the correct red Recaro front seats and red carpets, unique to the Premier Edition, with the Recaro seats supplied with protective seat covers. The passenger and rear seats present as if they have seen virtually no use, reinforcing the car’s careful ownership. The door cards, dashboard, and headliner are all in excellent condition, with no damage, sagging, or excessive wear, and all electronics and systems operate as they should, including the desirable factory air conditioning.
Under the bonnet, the engine bay is clean and well presented, reflecting careful ownership rather than cosmetic over-preparation. The red rocker cover remains tidy and correct, and mechanically the car performs exactly as a Honda Type R should. Powered by the legendary K20 engine, it delivers sharp throttle response and an engaging, analogue driving experience. The recent servicing and braking overhaul provide strong, confidence-inspiring performance, while the car remains tight, responsive, and free from warning lights or unwanted noises.
This Honda Civic Type R EP3 Premier Edition represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine, late-build, unmodified example with the correct specification, sensible mileage, strong history, and long-term collector ownership. Increasingly difficult to find in this condition, Premier Editions are now recognised as true modern Japanese performance icons.
