Description
AMM International is pleased to present this meticulously built 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR, finished in classic Scotia White and representing a rare opportunity to acquire a properly forged, professionally engineered Evo V with transparent provenance and real-world usability.
Imported into the UK in 2003, this genuine, accident-free example has benefitted from a comprehensive mechanical transformation by respected specialists EngineTuner, who carried out a full forged 2.4-litre 4G63 conversion using premium components throughout. Producing approximately 350BHP, the car delivers strong, usable performance with an emphasis on reliability rather than headline figures. The engine build has covered just 10,000 miles since completion, with a recent remap ensuring smooth, balanced power delivery and excellent drivability.
Crucially, this is not a superficial build. In 2025, the car underwent complete underbody corrosion repair and welding by EngineTuner, fully documented with photographs and invoices. The result is a structurally solid, rust-free underside that addresses one of the most critical long-term ownership concerns for classic Evolutions. All work has been carried out with longevity in mind, making this a genuinely usable and confidence-inspiring example.
Mechanically, the specification is extensive and well judged. The forged 2.4L setup utilises a 4G64 crankshaft, K1 forged rods, Wiseco pistons, and a fully rebuilt cylinder head secured with Cosworth gaskets and head studs. Forced induction is handled by an S214 Turbo Technics turbocharger, paired with an HKS induction system, Forge dump valve, Toyosports front-mounted intercooler, and alloy radiator. Supporting modifications include a Walbro 255 fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, and ECU calibration by EngineTuner, with boost management via a Greddy E-01 in-car controller.
The drivetrain has been suitably uprated with a Fidanza lightweight flywheel and Helix organic clutch, while a 3-inch turbo-back exhaust with 4-inch tailpipe (decat) delivers an authentic Evo soundtrack without excessive harshness. Additional enhancements include Cusco front and rear strut braces, oil catch tank, and removal of the A/C system in keeping with the car’s focused performance intent.
Externally, the car retains its factory Scotia White paintwork, presenting honestly with age-related marks consistent with use. It sits on Nissan 350Z alloy wheels shod in good tyres, with brakes in good order. Importantly, the underside is now structurally sound and rust-free following the recent remedial work, elevating this example above many superficially presented alternatives.
Inside, the original GSR interior remains intact, clean, and unmodified. The AYC system has been tested and is fully operational, all electronics and gauges function correctly, and security is enhanced with both a Cobra alarm and a Ghost immobiliser. The car is supplied with two original keys and retains a cohesive, period-correct cabin environment.
Offered with a comprehensive history file including build sheets, invoices, service records, and photographic documentation, this Evo V stands out for its transparency and mechanical integrity. The private registration K800 EVO is included in the sale, further enhancing its appeal.
Overall, this is a mechanically excellent, cosmetically honest Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR, a properly built, forged 2.4L example with respected EngineTuner provenance, significant recent structural investment, and strong documentation throughout. In today’s market, it represents outstanding value for an enthusiast seeking a serious, usable Evo with the right work done in the right way.
